‘I succeeded’… Manager sacked by Nottingham Forest thinks he did a good job

The 61-year-old joined Forest in March 2017, when the club was near the bottom of the Championship and struggling for survival.
The Reds eventually won 3-0 against Ipswich Town on the last day, due to a double from Britt Assombalonga and a fantastic strike from Chris Cohen.

Forest went through a summer of transition, with Assombalonga leaving for Middlesbrough for £15 million and Warburton working on a shoestring budget.
The former Reds manager outlined what was expected of him during his first few months in command on the ScotScore podcast.
“In a 10-15 minute meeting, I met Mr Marinakis for the first time, and he said he would like to offer me the job.”
