Forest faces competition in their pursuit of Guirassy, with Fulham and Tottenham also expressing interest in signing the player. Stuttgart seems to be struggling to retain him amidst the growing interest.
Guirassy, who has been in outstanding form in the 2023/24 season, scoring 16 goals in 10 games, is now considered a sought-after talent throughout Europe. Forest had initially been linked to the player during the summer transfer window, but the interest was not pursued as the striker expressed a desire to stay with his current team.
According to Bild, there is now a realistic possibility that Guirassy might leave the Bundesliga club in the upcoming summer transfer window. Forest, potentially in need of another striker due to Taiwo Awoniyi’s apparent injury, could find hope in this development.
The 27-year-old Guinea international, proven in the Bundesliga, is currently in his prime and would be a quality addition for Forest. While integrating both Guirassy and Awoniyi into the team might pose a challenge for Forest’s head coach, Steve Cooper, the squad has only two other strikers, Chris Wood and Divock Origi, making the acquisition of another forward seem necessary.
At a reported £15 million, signing Guirassy appears to be a sensible move for Forest, considering his age and current form. Despite competition from Fulham and Tottenham, Forest remains optimistic about securing the player, and the willingness to spend money again is an intriguing aspect of the potential transfer.
