The Daily Mail reported on November 11 that Leicester and Southampton have expressed interest in Tom Fellows. However, the potential new owners are adamant about retaining the talented academy player.
Darren Byfield, who coached Fellows at Crawley Town, commended the winger’s incredible skills and praised his exemplary attitude and work ethic off the field. Byfield, speaking to the Express & Star on November 22, expressed his admiration for Fellows, stating, “I absolutely love the boy, honestly.”
Describing Fellows’ on-field performance as “unbelievable” and highlighting his dynamic style of play, Byfield emphasized the winger’s positive attitude towards development and hard work. Byfield also commended Fellows as a wonderful individual off the pitch, praising his mannerisms and predicting a bright future in football for him.
Upon returning to West Brom this season, Fellows has received ample playing time under the guidance of coach Carlos Corberan, who recognizes the player’s potential and is actively contributing to his growth at a higher level than before. In the current season, Fellows has made seven appearances for the Baggies, and Corberan is keen on integrating him into the team, especially given the limited options in wide positions.
The high praise from someone closely associated with Fellows underscores his talent and character, aligning with the determination of prospective new owners to retain him at Albion. Having been part of almost every matchday squad this season, Fellows’ development seems promising at The Hawthorns, and with patience, he has the potential to become a standout player.
