Running back Kyren Williams’ injury appears to be getting closer for the Los Angeles Rams, as head coach Sean McVay disclosed that Williams is participating fully in practice this week.
Although Williams is now taking part in practice after suffering an injury earlier in the season against the Arizona Cardinals, McVay wants to make sure his running back is completely healthy before he plays a bigger role on game days.
This week, McVay said, “I think you want to be smart about it.” “I believe that in order to simply get him back to some of the things that are going to happen on Sunday, you want to be able to try to simulate some drills without the risk of injury. It wasn’t like that too long ago, but you can never really replicate those things.
You never take anything for granted, that’s for sure. We want him to be able to resume his regular workload if he’s feeling well. I know he’s thrilled to be back, and his teammates are happy to have him back.
Since his injury, Williams has been relieved by a few familiar faces at running back, most notably Darrell Henderson, a former and current Ram who scored last week in the end zone, which was a vital component of Los Angeles’ victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
Williams leads the Rams in rushing yards (456), and he has six touchdowns this season on the ground despite missing several games this season.
