The Miami Dolphins resumed their winning streak by securing another victory in Week 12 against the struggling New York Jets. Miami dominated the game with a 34-13 win, advancing to an 8-3 record and solidifying their position at the top of the AFC East.
While the Jets’ offense has struggled throughout the 2023 NFL season, their defense has been a notable strength. Despite the presence of star defensive talent on the Jets’ roster, Miami managed to exploit weaknesses, gaining substantial yardage.
Despite the Jets’ proficiency in limiting wide receivers, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle proved to be formidable challenges, each accumulating over 100 receiving yards. Waddle led the team with 114 yards, while Hill secured the only touchdown for the receiving corps.
Tyreek Hill’s exceptional performance week after week has led to Chris Simms advocating for him as the potential 2023 NFL MVP on the Dan Patrick Show. Simms emphasized Hill’s impact on the Dolphins’ offense, attributing much of their success to him.
"I think he's the MVP of football right now. Everything that they do is dictated because of him and what he brings to that offense."

While the MVP traditionally favors quarterbacks due to their significant influence on the offense, Hill’s outstanding speed, burst, and ability to stretch the field make him the driving force behind the Dolphins’ offensive success. This, in turn, enables Tua Tagovailoa to execute deep passes, setting the stage for Miami to score consistently.
Hill has set a personal goal to reach 2,000 receiving yards this season, and if he accomplishes this feat, there’s a genuine possibility of him securing the coveted MVP award.
