Gustavo Scarpa transfer twist as club president reveals ‘real chance’ of Nottingham Forest deal
Internacional president Alessandro Barcellos has revealed the club are in a position to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder, Gustavo Scarpa.
The 29-year-old’s future remains uncertain after joining Olympiacos on loan from Forest in the summer. He has also found life difficult in Greece and has made just seven league appearances.
A number of clubs from Brazil are said to be interested in Scarpa, including Atletico Mineiro who have reportedly seen a bid rejected for his services. Inter, meanwhile, have addressed their interest with Barcellos telling UOL: “He’s a player we’re in a position to bring in, but it doesn’t just depend on Internacional.
“The market is moving and we usually only put names out there as long as they have a real chance of being here. He’s a great player, who is certainly being sought after by several clubs in Brazil and even abroad. But in order for things to work out, this or any other negotiation to go ahead, we need to be careful so that we can be successful.”
Elsewhere, Globo Esporte claimed Scarpa previously held talks with Inter over a transfer. They add that Forest demand between €4.5m-€6m (£4m-£5m) to part ways with the Brazilian who is under contract until 2026.
