The most recent updates from the college football transfer portal suggest that the Georgia Bulldogs might be looking to add another talented player, with predictions pointing towards Florida running back Trevor Etienne. Brad Shepard of Bleacher Report shared insights into the top players in the transfer portal, suggesting that Etienne, the younger brother of Jacksonville Jaguars running back Trevor Etienne, could be headed to Georgia.
In a December 12 article titled “Predicting Landing Spots for Biggest Names in the 2023 Transfer Portal,” Shepard expressed confidence in Etienne joining SEC East rival Georgia, with DawgNation’s Mike Griffith foreseeing him as a potential first-team All-SEC runner for the Bulldogs. The buzz around Etienne to Georgia gains credibility as On3.com’s Pete Nakos identifies Georgia as the favorite to secure the former four-star recruit from the transfer portal.
However, not all news is positive for the Bulldogs, as they face competition for five-star quarterback prospect Dylan Raiola. Although Raiola has been committed to Georgia, Nebraska is reportedly making strides in potentially flipping the recruit. ESPN reports Raiola’s upcoming visit to Nebraska, emphasizing the challenge of recruiting against Georgia. Raiola, the son of former NFL offensive lineman Dominic Raiola, has family ties to Nebraska but initially chose Ohio State and then Georgia.
Despite the uncertainties surrounding Raiola, the Bulldogs, led by coach Kirby Smart, still have time to secure their quarterback of the future, especially with Carson Beck expected to return to Georgia for the 2024 season. The evolving dynamics in the transfer portal and recruiting landscape will determine the Bulldogs’ roster composition in the coming seasons.
