On Thursday, the Georgia Bulldogs secured a significant transfer from Southern California. The Bulldogs successfully recruited USC wide receiver Michael Jackson III, who recently entered the NCAA’s transfer portal.
Radi Nabulsi, a prominent Georgia reporter, shared the news of Jackson’s decision to join the Bulldogs on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. Nabulsi stated, “USC wide receiver Michael Jackson III has committed to Georgia out of the transfer portal.”
Having spent three years at Southern Cal, Jackson contributed to the Trojans, amassing 46 receptions for 498 yards and scoring five receiving touchdowns. His most productive season was as a sophomore in 2022 when he recorded a career-best four touchdowns. Despite his three years of experience, there appears to be untapped potential in Jackson, and he aims to unlock it in a new environment.
Georgia’s interest in acquiring a wide receiver is evident, and this isn’t the first time they’ve utilized the transfer portal for such a purpose. Head coach Kirby Smart has consistently demonstrated a proactive approach in recruiting wide receivers through the portal.

Following a successful season, culminating in an Orange Bowl victory over Florida State, Georgia fell short of its goal to secure a third consecutive College Football Playoff championship. Nonetheless, the Bulldogs remain one of the top programs nationally, and the addition of Jackson on Thursday suggests a potential enhancement to their roster.
