As college football gears up for the 2024 season, teams are actively reshaping their rosters, intensifying the competition for top recruits and transfers. Georgia football, seeking to bounce back from last year’s near miss at the College Football Playoff, is currently in the midst of an offseason overhaul.
The latest development involves tight end Benjamin Yurosek, who is set to visit the Bulldogs, according to information from 247 Sports’ Steve Wiltfong. Yurosek recently made the move to the transfer portal after completing four years with Stanford football. Despite a shortened 2023 season due to injury, where he played in only six games, the six-foot-four, 242-pound tight end managed to accumulate 239 receiving yards, 16 receptions, and one touchdown. Despite this setback, Yurosek earned an honorable mention in the Pac-12.
Highlighting his collegiate career, Yurosek’s standout season was arguably in 2021 when, as a sophomore, he recorded impressive stats with 42 catches for 653 receiving yards and three touchdowns. This history positions him as a compelling candidate for Georgia football as they strategically build their team for the upcoming season.

Georgia football looks to bounce back
Yurosek’s visit to Georgia coincides with the Bulldogs’ remarkable season, capped off by a resounding victory over Florida State in the Orange Bowl. Georgia was on track for the College Football Playoff and a third consecutive National Championship until a heart-wrenching loss to Alabama in their final regular-season game.
Despite this setback, Coach Kirby Smart is now setting his sights on Benjamin Yurosek as a potential successor to Brock Bowers. The Bulldogs are eager for a comeback season, fueled by the disappointment of falling short in their quest for a three-peat. Securing Yurosek would bring them closer to reclaiming their position at the pinnacle of college football.
