BREAKING: Dallas Cowboys make a risky decision at QB

An hour before their crucial Wild Card round game against the Green Bay Packers, the Dallas Cowboys took a bold gamble. Cooper Rush, the backup quarterback for the Packers, unexpectedly appeared on the injury list on Friday due to a sickness.
Rush was absent from the Cowboys’ final two practices on Friday and Saturday, according to several reports. The Cowboys didn’t want the illness to spread to other starting players because it was either serious enough for him to miss important practice time or it was still contagious.

Cooper Rush is a historic 4-0 as starter for the Cowboys with win over Commanders

As reported by ESPN’s Ed Werder, the Cowboys are prepared to have Rush as Dak Prescott’s backup against the Packers. Despite the unexpected illness leading him to miss Friday’s and Saturday’s practice, head coach Mike McCarthy has confidence in Rush, favoring him over former San Francisco 49ers first-round pick Trey Lance. While the Cowboys are optimistic they won’t have to rely on Rush, the prevalent injuries among NFL quarterbacks this season make it a plausible scenario.
