Tyreik McAllister, who had an outstanding season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, has secured a future/reserve contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. The dynamic 25-year-old, standing at five feet eleven inches and weighing 180 pounds, demonstrated remarkable versatility in his debut CFL season in 2023. Notably, he led the league in kickoff return average and all-purpose yards.
In his rookie CFL campaign, McAllister showcased his skills with 13 carries for 52 yards, 27 receptions totaling 364 yards with two touchdowns, 41 kickoff returns averaging 25.3 yards, 56 punt returns averaging 10.8 yards, and seven missed field goal returns covering 408 yards along with one touchdown.
Originally from Latta, S.C., McAllister spent part of the 2022 season on the practice roster with the Denver Broncos after going undrafted in the NFL Draft from the University of Charleston. He primarily played as a running back before making his mark in the CFL.
The Raiders signed McAllister after he impressed during a workout on December 20, 2023. It’s important to note that all CFL players have the opportunity to pursue NFL opportunities, regardless of contract status, within a designated window that remains open until free agency begins on February 13, 2024.
