Jordan McCloud was added by Auburn via the transfer portal as they reevaluated the quarterback situation. These are the accomplishments McCloud made while attending college.
He commenced his university journey at the University of South Florida.
For the 2018 campaign, Jordan McCloud, a three-star recruit, committed to play for USF. 2018 saw McCloud redshirt.
In 2019, McCloud made appearances in all ten games and started ten. In 1,429 yards, he completed 124 of 224 pass attempts. He also threw eight interceptions and 12 touchdowns.
In 2020, McCloud made eight appearances and started seven games. He threw two interceptions and nine touchdowns on 120 of 194 ball attempts for 1,341 yards of completion percentage.
Following the 2020 season, McCloud logged into the transfer portal.
He transferred to Arizona.
In the 2021 season, Jordan McCloud made a transfer to Arizona. During this period, he participated in three games, starting in two of them. Throughout these appearances, he successfully completed 48 out of 73 pass attempts, accumulating 481 yards. However, he faced challenges with two touchdowns and five interceptions. Unfortunately, his season was cut short due to a significant knee and ankle injury, necessitating surgery.
On October 8, 2022, McCloud officially declared that he had parted ways with the team and entered the transfer portal.
He made a transfer to James Madison University.
For the 2023 season, Jordan McCloud transferred to James Madison, where he played a pivotal role in leading the team to an impressive 11-2 record. Throughout the season, McCloud showcased his skills by completing 281 out of 412 pass attempts, amassing a total of 3,657 yards. He threw an impressive 35 touchdowns but also faced ten interceptions.
His outstanding performance earned him recognition, as he was honored with a spot on the All-Sun Belt First Team and also named the Sun Belt Player of the Year. McCloud’s contributions played a significant role in James Madison’s successful season.
A quarterback competition is set to take place this upcoming spring.
The starting position for the Auburn Tigers will be determined through competition, with Jordan McCloud vying against Payton Thorne, Holden Geriner, and Walker White. The question remains: Does McCloud possess the qualities needed to secure the starting quarterback role in the SEC?
