Breaking News: Minnesota 35- years old QB key star player announced his resignation

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is nearing the end of his contract and has indicated his desire to extend his tenure with the team. After the conclusion of the season on Monday, when questioned by the media about the possibility of accepting a hometown discount if the Vikings pursue that option, he replied,

“That’s an excellent question, and it’s something I’ve contemplated throughout my entire 12-year career. I believe it’s crucial to consider it. Financially, I’ve been blessed by God beyond my wildest dreams. So, at this point in my career, it’s not really about the dollars.”

However, the perspective on the potential re-signing of Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins seems to differ when it comes to the team’s play-by-play announcer, Paul Allen. He expresses reservations about Cousins fitting into the team’s current strategy.

During his radio show on KFXN-FM 100.3 on Thursday morning, Allen discussed the possibility of the Vikings retaining Cousins. He asked former Vikings linebacker and current radio network sideline reporter, Ben Leber, whether the team might consider moving up into the top five to secure their preferred quarterback.

Leber responded, saying,

“I don’t think so. I don’t think so, man. You could, but they’re going to hold you over the fire and say, OK well we want X, Y, and Z. And if it comes to existing player equity, we don’t really have it. So you can’t really trade players, so you’re trading future picks. You might be one quarterback away from making a little run in the playoffs, but I don’t think anybody believes that this roster, as it is right now, is a Super Bowl-contending team.”

Allen also emphasized the challenges the Vikings front office, led by general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, might face in advocating for analytics if they decide to bring back Cousins after a significant injury. He stated on the show,

“I just can’t imagine the analytics add up to a 36-year-old off an Achilles injury, at fat cash. I can’t possibly imagine that the analytics, that are of now, add up to something like that.
