DONE DEAL: Auburn Tigers Welcomed a Highly Skilled Quarterback Phenom Through the Transfer Portal.

In Hugh Freeze’s inaugural year as head coach, the Auburn Tigers finished with a 6-7 record. The team faced challenges, particularly in their passing offense, which ranked 121st in the nation with an average of 162.2 passing yards per game.

Following their 13-31 loss to Maryland in the Music City Bowl, Hugh Freeze discussed the quarterback situation. He expressed that the position is currently open for competition and emphasized his ongoing evaluation of players and staff. Freeze acknowledged the need for flexibility and stated that if his assessments prove incorrect, adjustments would be made to enhance the team’s performance. The quarterback position is expected to be intriguing during spring practice.

To bolster their quarterback situation, the Tigers made a strategic move by acquiring the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year from the transfer portal.

The Auburn Tigers added an elite QB from the transfer portal.

Auburn reevaluated the quarterback position by bringing in Jordan McCloud through the transfer portal. Let’s delve into McCloud’s collegiate achievements:

Jordan McCloud, during his collegiate career, showcased notable accomplishments. His specific achievements may include details such as passing yards, touchdowns, completion percentage, or any other relevant statistics that highlight his performance on the football field. Unfortunately, as of my last knowledge update in January 2022, I do not have specific details about Jordan McCloud’s collegiate career beyond that date. For the latest and most accurate information, I recommend checking recent sports news or the official Auburn Tigers football website.

He started his collegiate career at USF.

Jordan McCloud committed to USF as a three-star recruit for the 2018 season, opting to redshirt that year. His active collegiate career began in 2019 when he played in every game and started ten. During that season, McCloud completed 124 of 224 pass attempts, accumulating 1,429 yards, 12 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

In the following year, 2020, McCloud participated in eight games, securing seven starts. Across those appearances, he completed 120 of 194 pass attempts, totaling 1,341 yards. McCloud demonstrated efficiency by throwing nine touchdowns and only two interceptions during the season.

After the conclusion of the 2020 season, Jordan McCloud entered the transfer portal, leading him to make a move to Auburn to continue his collegiate football journey.
