LATEST: Yankees Linked Another Prodigious Fireballer In Unexpected Trade Including A Young talented Infielder

The New York Yankees are actively seeking ways to bolster their bullpen following the departure of Wandy Peralta and Keynan Middleton in free agency. Despite having the top bullpen in baseball last season, both Peralta and Middleton opted for deals with the San Diego Padres and St. Louis Cardinals, respectively, rather than returning to New York. Consequently, the Yankees are on the lookout for options to replenish their bullpen, exploring both free agency and the trade market.

One intriguing trade possibility involves the Miami Marlins’ reliever Tanner Scott, as suggested by Fox Sports’ Jordan Shusterman. Shusterman proposes a trade where the Yankees acquire the left-handed pitcher Scott from the Marlins in exchange for shortstop Oswald Dair Peraza. Shusterman highlights the Marlins’ surplus of excellent left-handed relievers, with Scott standing out as one of the best in the league last year. However, Scott is slated to enter free agency after the upcoming season.

Shusterman suggests that if the Yankees have completed their spending on the rotation but still aim to enhance their pitching staff significantly, they could consider offering Peraza as a potential long-term shortstop solution for the Marlins in exchange for Scott. This proposed trade is presented as a win-win scenario, making practical sense for both teams.
