Breaking news: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes’ controversial moments

Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes Jr., has been arrested for driving under the influence for at least the sixth time. The 53-year-old, known as Pat, was taken into custody on February 3 in Tyler, Texas, as per legal records from Us Weekly. His previous arrests for the same charge occurred in March 2012, September 2012, April 2018, November 2018, and March 2019, with a subsequent jail term from March 15 to April 7, 2019. Currently, he is held at Smith County Jail with a $10,000 bail.

This incident comes just before Patrick Jr., aged 28, is scheduled to play in Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers. Asked on February 1 about the possibility of his son becoming the best quarterback of all time, Pat commented that it’s “still to be determined.” He expressed respect for Tom Brady and his admiration for quarterbacks like Joe Montana, stating that Patrick Jr. is on the right path but acknowledging the greatness of those established players.

Although Pat did not pursue football, he had a career in major league baseball from 1992 to 2003, playing for teams such as the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates. Pat shares sons Patrick and Jackson Mahomes with ex-wife Randi Martin and has recently become a grandfather to Patrick and Brittany Mahomes’ children, Sterling (2) and Bronze (14 months). Additionally, Pat is a father to Zoe Mahomes and Graham Walker.
