On Sunday morning, Oklahoma secured a commitment from Ryan Fodje, an offensive lineman from the 2025 class. Hailing from Bridgeland, Texas, Fodje stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 275 pounds. Rated as a 3-star recruit, the Houston-area player opted for the Sooners over other notable choices such as USC, Texas, Oregon, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. Fodje, recognized as a First-Team All-District Selection during his junior year in 2023, played a pivotal role as the starting right tackle, contributing to the Bears’ playoff appearance.
Fodje shares the field with another 2025 offensive tackle, Jonte Newman, who previously included the Sooners in his top eight schools in January. Fodje showcased his skills at the Brent Venables Elite Camp during the summer, impressing Oklahoma’s offensive line coach, Bill Bedenbaugh.
Bedenbaugh and the Sooners made history the following month by being the first college program to extend an offer to the promising tackle from Texas. Subsequently, Fodje received 17 more offers from schools across the nation. Fodje becomes the second offensive lineman to commit to OU’s 2025 recruiting class, joining Owen Hollenbeck, a guard from Melissa, Texas. Overall, Fodje is the 10th player to pledge to Brent Venables and the coaching staff in the upcoming cycle, alongside Kevin Sperry, Gracen Harris, Ka’Mori Moore, Alexander Shieldnight, Marcus James, Trynae Washington, Jaden Nickens, and Elijah Thomas.
