Marc Trestman has returned to the NFL. After serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law for the past three years, he has been appointed as the Chargers’ senior offensive assistant. Prior to his time in academia, Trestman was the head coach and general manager of the XFL’s Tampa Bay Vipers. He also provided NFL analysis for The 33rd Team, an online platform featuring insights from former coaches.
Trestman’s previous NFL experience includes a stint as the head coach of the Chicago Bears, where he held a record of 13-19 from 2013 to 2014 before being dismissed along with general manager Phil Emery. He then served as the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens from 2015 to 2016, followed by a two-year tenure as the head coach of the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts. Prior to his time with the Bears, Trestman achieved success in the CFL, leading the Montreal Alouettes to consecutive Grey Cup victories.
