NASCAR racer Chris Hacker has been hospitalized in Columbia, South Carolina, following a collision between his Mustang and a semi-truck on Wednesday, as per various sources.
Thankfully, it seems Hacker will bounce back from his injuries, as he shared a photo from his hospital bed, giving a thumbs-up on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday. This update came after he posted a statement on the same platform.
The statement revealed, “A semi-truck veered into oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision with Chris’s Mustang.” It continued, “He was rushed to Prisma Health Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina, where he underwent emergency surgery. Despite sustaining several injuries, a CT scan indicated he is now in stable condition and is anticipated to make a full recovery.”
Hacker, aged 24, who competes part-time in the Craftsman Truck Series and the Xfinity Series, was reportedly en route to Daytona for this weekend’s events at Daytona International Speedway.
