Oklahoma hires Jolie Ale as next Director of On-Campus Recruiting

Ale re-enters the collegiate football scene during a period of significant change. The program she is joining is no exception to this shift.

The college sports world was rocked when Oklahoma, alongside Texas, announced its departure from the Big 12 Conference in favor of joining the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

Recognized as one of the premier conferences in college football, the SEC is known for its substantial resources and support for member programs. In anticipation of this move, Oklahoma has been making strategic preparations.

The Sooners are scheduled to officially join the SEC at the beginning of July. Despite their recent success in recruiting, having secured three consecutive top-10 classes, Oklahoma has been proactive in expanding its off-field and recruiting staff ahead of the conference transition. A crucial opportunity arose due to a recent staff change.

Oklahoma football: Jolie Ale named director of on-campus recruiting

Lee Davis, who held the position of Director of On-Campus Recruiting during Brent Venables’ tenure, departed to join the University of Central Florida (UCF). Davis now serves as an Assistant Athletic Director for UCF and the Football Executive Operations and Recruiting Director for the Knights.

Stepping into this vacancy is Ale, who will play a pivotal role in guiding Oklahoma through the transition to the SEC.

The responsibilities of the Director of On-Campus Recruiting in college football encompass planning and coordinating the recruiting experience for potential recruits during official and unofficial visits, game days, and all recruiting events. Additionally, the role involves various other duties, such as enhancing research, development, and strategies related to player acquisition communications, managing the recruiting budget, and maintaining the overall recruiting calendar for the program.
