Brent Venables and his team have remained active in recruiting during the offseason, making progress in building the 2025 recruiting class. Recently, the Sooners received news that they are in the running for several talented junior prospects, further enhancing their already promising recruitment efforts for the upcoming cycle.
As of now, OU has secured commitments from 10 players in the 2025 class, including the latest addition, 4-star offensive lineman Ryan Fodje from Bridgeland (TX). The group also comprises Kevin Sperry, Marcus James, and Trynae Washington from Carl Albert (OK), Owen Hollenbeck from Melissa (TX), Alexander Shieldnight from Wagoner (OK), Jaden Nickens from Douglass (OK), Elijah Thomas from Checotah (OK), Gracen Harris from Ennis (TX), and Ka’Mori Moore from Lee’s Summit North (MO).
On February 11, 4-star wide receiver Travis Smith revealed his top eight schools, with Oklahoma, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Colorado, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Mississippi being among the contenders.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 195 pounds, the standout from Atlanta Westlake (GA) is ranked as the No. 74 overall player and the No. 8 wide receiver in the 2025 class, according to On3.
Adding Smith to the mix would further strengthen an already impressive wide receiver corps, which features a trio of 4-star playmakers. Smith received an offer from the Sooners in late January.
Just three days after Smith unveiled his top eight schools, 4-star edge rusher Darren Ikinnagbon announced OU among his own top eight choices, alongside Georgia, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Duke, Tennessee, Ohio State, and Penn State.

Hailing from Hillside, NJ, Ikinnagbon is ranked as the No. 240 overall player and the No. 24 edge rusher in the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 240 pounds, the standout from the Comets would be a valuable addition to the defensive line, complementing Shieldnight and Moore.
On Sunday, two players from Texas announced their top schools.
First, 4-star offensive lineman Connor Carty from Prosper (TX) unveiled his top 12 choices, which include LSU, Oregon, Texas A&M, Texas, TCU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Missouri, USC, Texas Tech, Arkansas, and Penn State, remaining in contention.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 290 pounds, Carty is ranked as the No. 213 overall prospect and the No. 8 interior offensive lineman in the 2025 class, according to Rivals.
Carty is part of a group of offensive linemen from Prosper that Bill Bedenbaugh and his team are actively recruiting. Eagles’ sophomore tackle Zaden Krempin recently received an offer from the Sooners and is scheduled to visit Norman in March.
Lastly, Shadow Creek (TX) cornerback Cobey Sellers revealed his top six choices on Sunday, with Oklahoma, LSU, Georgia, Texas A&M, Texas, and Oregon remaining in contention.

Sellers made a visit to Norman in January to attend the Sooners’ Junior Day event, and both On3 and Rivals have predicted that he will choose OU.
Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 175 pounds, the standout defensive back is ranked as the No. 124 overall player and the No. 17 corner in the upcoming recruiting cycle.
In addition to the four prospects who included Oklahoma in their top school lists, Venables and his team also extended offers to five high school recruits this week.
Among them, in the 2025 class, Atamai Matau, an offensive lineman from St. Francis (CA), received an offer from Bedenbaugh and his staff on Friday.

In the 2026 class, the Sooners extended offers to linebacker Anthony Jones from St. Paul’s Episcopal (AL), linebacker Kosi Okpala from Mayde Creek (TX), and athlete Amari Sabb from Glassboro (NJ).
Jones, measuring 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, is highly regarded, holding the No. 6 overall player ranking and the No. 1 linebacker position nationally according to 247Sports. Sabb is noteworthy as the younger brother of former Michigan safety Keon Sabb, who recently entered the transfer portal and has reportedly been in contact with Oklahoma.
