One former San Diego Padres player is still in search of a new team.

Despite his stellar performance, former Padres standout Blake Snell remains unsigned. The 2023 National League Cy Young Award recipient has been seeking a lucrative contract this offseason but has yet to secure one.

How Blake Snell Earned The Ability To Walk Batters

The free-agent market has been unexpectedly slow-moving this year, with several top-tier players still available. Snell is arguably among the best remaining free agents, and there’s reportedly a team showing significant interest in him. According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, that team is the New York Yankees.

New York has been making headlines since the conclusion of the 2023 season, particularly with their significant moves. They notably acquired superstar slugger Juan Soto in a blockbuster trade with San Diego early in the offseason. However, it seems there’s a possibility that Snell won’t be the only former Padre joining the Yankees for the 2024 season.
