Report: Why Patriots don’t ‘deserve’ QB in 2024 NFL Draft, per expert

Tom Curran, a commentator for NBC Sports Boston, suggests that while the New England Patriots have the opportunity to select one of the top three quarterbacks—Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, or Jayden Daniels—in the upcoming NFL Draft with their third pick, there are concerns about whether they are prepared for a rookie quarterback.

During an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Curran expressed that unless the quarterbacks themselves prove unsuitable, the Patriots are likely inclined towards selecting a quarterback. However, he questions whether the team is currently in a position to support a rookie quarterback effectively. Curran highlights the team’s offensive struggles, including issues with the offensive line, lack of top-tier receivers and tight ends under contract, and limited options at running back. This leads him to ponder if the Patriots are truly deserving of taking a quarterback given their current state of disarray on offense.
