Breaking news: Hamilton release controversial statement to Mercedes

Certainly, following two seasons without a victory, Toto Wolff accepts responsibility for steering the team in the wrong direction, which might understandably lead to a sense of disappointment. However, the seven-time world champion disagrees with such sentiments.

He told reporters in Bahrain, “Honestly, that wasn’t the case. I genuinely believe that this team, as I mentioned before, will secure another championship. It comprises an extraordinary group of individuals and is exceptionally well managed.”

Hamilton went on to express his confidence in Mercedes despite the current car’s championship prospects not influencing his feelings or his career’s next phase.

He acknowledged his six titles with the German team and one with Mercedes-powered McLaren, revealing that part of the allure of Ferrari was the opportunity to elevate the iconic Maranello team to its former glory.

“As I mentioned, it’s about embarking on a new chapter in my life. I feel I’ve accomplished everything possible with this team, and I’m approaching the latter part of my career. I relish challenges, and this represents the ultimate challenge – joining a team with incredible heritage that hasn’t enjoyed the success it aspired to in the last decade or so.”

Hamilton also noted Ferrari’s promising performance during the weekend and expressed his desire to surpass them this year and in the future.
