Confirmed: The Toronto Blue Jays have exchanged infielder Santiago Espinal for right-handed pitcher Chris McElvain. McElvain, a 23-year-old pitcher in the Minor Leagues, joins from the Cincinnati Reds, where he has been since 2023. During his time with the Reds in 2023, he achieved a 3.04 ERA while playing in class A. McElvain, who graduated from Vanderbilt Commodores, maintained a 1.313 WHIP in the previous season.
