The Oakland Athletics, a team in Major League Baseball, has taken a significant stride in their plans to move to Las Vegas by partnering with Legends, a company specializing in premium experiences. Legends will provide various services, including strategic consulting, product design, and assistance with premium and suite sales. This partnership signifies a crucial moment in the A’s journey towards establishing a strong presence in Las Vegas.
This collaboration with Legends follows the A’s recent teamwork with Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and HNTB, where they revealed the official design concept for their new stadium located on the Strip. The proposed stadium, with a capacity of 33,000 and a cost of $1.5 billion, aims to redefine the stadium experience by seamlessly integrating with the Las Vegas Strip’s atmosphere and offering a tiered layout to bring fans closer to the action.
Dave Kaval, the A’s president, expressed excitement about the long-term partnership with Legends, emphasizing how their industry expertise and local market knowledge will help create products tailored to fans’ needs and enhance the ballpark experience. Mike Ondrejko, president of global sales at Legends, highlighted the alignment between both teams’ data-driven approaches in optimizing design and marketing strategy.
As the A’s prepare to bid farewell to their current home at the Oakland Coliseum after the 2024 season, construction for their new stadium in Las Vegas is scheduled to commence in April 2025, with completion expected by January 2028.
