De’zie Jones, a highly regarded four-star wide receiver hailing from DePaul Catholic in Wayne, New Jersey, has made the decision to join Ohio State’s football program. Standing at 5 feet 10 inches and weighing 175 pounds, Jones opted for the Buckeyes over offers from Florida, Penn State, Michigan State, and Rutgers.
In the class of 2025, Jones is recognized as the 312th overall prospect and the 44th wide receiver nationally. Within New Jersey, he holds the impressive rankings of third among wide receivers and ninth overall, according to industry rankings from On3.
During his junior season, Jones showcased his skills with 56 receptions, tallying nearly 900 receiving yards and scoring six touchdowns. His stellar performance earned him numerous accolades including first-team All-Division, first-team All-County, and first-team All-North Jersey honors, along with a second-team All-State recognition by USA TODAY.
With Jones’s commitment, Ohio State’s 2025 recruiting class now stands atop the national rankings and leads the Big Ten conference. Notably, Jones becomes the first wide receiver to commit to the Buckeyes’ 2025 class.
