Once again, the Florida Gators are gearing up for a busy Thursday with a fresh batch of prospects making their way to Gainesville for campus visits. With the team having practice scheduled for that day, showcasing the behind-the-scenes preparation will be pivotal. Many of these visitors are expected to stay in town for multiple days, presenting an excellent opportunity for the coaching staff to leave a lasting impression. Swamp247 has compiled a list of anticipated attendees.
Headlining the group is Kevin Wynn, a standout defensive lineman from Greene County, Georgia, who holds a spot in the Top100 rankings. Although the Gators offered him a spot last October, this will be his first visit to campus. With the recent addition of defensive line coach Gerald Chatman to the staff, Wynn has emerged as a priority recruit. This visit holds significant weight for the Gators, as Wynn’s understanding of the program is limited, making the impression made during his visit crucial. Wynn has already visited Florida State, Georgia, and South Carolina this spring, with official visits lined up for Georgia and Florida State later in the summer. He currently has a top 10 list of potential schools.
In the 2024 class, Florida secured LB Aaron Chiles from Good Counsel in Olney, Maryland, and now has their sights set on another target from the same school for the 2025 class, three-star interior offensive lineman Gavin Crawford. Despite receiving an offer in late January, Crawford is embarking on his inaugural visit to the campus. He will be spending several days in Gainesville, arriving late Wednesday and staying until Saturday. Crawford’s top five includes Duke, Florida, Maryland, Syracuse, and West Virginia, with official visits scheduled to West Virginia and Maryland. His extended stay will provide ample opportunity for building relationships and getting acquainted with the Florida program. This visit also marks a chance for assistant coaches Rob Sale and John DeCoster to leave their mark, particularly after Crawford’s initial contact with former assistant Darnell Stapleton, who has since moved to the NFL.
