The Minnesota Vikings have been actively engaging with every team within the top-10 picks of the NFL Draft as they prepare for what could be a pivotal moment in their franchise history. Their primary objective is to secure their next cornerstone quarterback. So far, they’ve conducted private meetings and workouts with several of their top quarterback prospects.

However, there seems to be a limit to how far they’re willing to move up in the draft, largely dictated by the potential cost involved. It wouldn’t be surprising to see general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah consider trading this year’s 11th and 23rd overall picks, along with their first-round selection in 2025, to break into the top-3 if necessary to land one of their top three quarterback prospects identified by KOC.

Rumors surrounding the Vikings’ draft plans suggest that the Patriots are demanding a significant offer in exchange for the third overall pick.

But what if it requires even more than that? That’s the sentiment echoed by top Patriots insider Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston, who is tapped into local sources. According to Curran, it seems that the Patriots are adamant about needing significant compensation to relinquish their position at No. 3 in the draft.

Curran suggests that based on his insights, it appears the Patriots are looking for a substantial package, potentially including three first-round picks, specifically from the Minnesota Vikings at No. 11 and No. 23, along with their first-round pick in the 2025 draft.

The idea is that it’s going to take a considerable offer to sway the Patriots from their current draft position. This demand could potentially be compared to the historic Herschel Walker trade, which still haunts the Vikings’ organization.

However, while Curran’s information is credible, there’s speculation about how well-connected he truly is within the Patriots’ circle. Some fans believe he may have a direct line to the team’s new head coach, Jerod Mayo. Nonetheless, if the Patriots are indeed seeking more than three first-round picks from the Vikings, it casts doubt on the likelihood of a deal being reached.

There are a few reasons why the Patriots might be holding out for such a high price. It could be that they highly value their selection at No. 3 and believe only an extraordinary offer would justify moving it. Alternatively, they might be testing the waters, seeing how far the Vikings are willing to go in negotiations, especially considering there’s still some time before discussions become more intense. Ultimately, only the Patriots know the true motivation behind their steep asking price.
