Hawkins will select from a pool of five finalists. Before finalizing the date and time for his decision, Hawkins shared his top schools list on social media during his recruitment process. Among these schools was Oklahoma, alongside programs like Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Texas State. Hawkins has narrowed his focus to these five finalists as he approaches his commitment date. He had previously expressed a desire to make his decision in early April, and that plan is on track with his impending announcement less than a week away.

For followers of the Oklahoma Sooners, the name Hawkins likely rings a bell. The youngest Hawkins, son of former Oklahoma safety Mike Hawkins and brother of current Sooners’ quarterback Michael Hawkins, is poised to embark on his college football journey. Will he follow the path of his father and brother? While nothing is certain, Oklahoma is working to secure his commitment.

Currently, there is one prediction on 247Sports Crystal Ball regarding Hawkins. This prediction favors the Sooners, with a confidence level rated at seven out of ten. This is largely attributed not only to Hawkins’ family ties with Oklahoma but also to his relationship with the coaching staff, particularly cornerback coach Jay Valai. Hawkins expressed interest in OU, citing Coach Valai’s ability to groom players for the NFL as a key factor in his consideration.

In the 247Sports Composite Player Rankings, which are industry-generated, Hawkins is currently ranked as the No. 517 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle. He holds a three-star rating and is recognized as one of the top 50 cornerbacks nationally, as well as one of the top 100 players in the state of Texas, securing the No. 88 spot overall.

In the more specific rankings by the 247Sports Network, Hawkins is listed as one of the top 70 corners in the country, placing him at No. 68, and he holds the No. 105 overall position among prospects in Texas, known for its abundance of talent.

Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing around 180 pounds, Hawkins possesses the versatility to play both corner and safety positions, demonstrating his skill and effectiveness in the defensive backfield.

As Hawkins approaches the final days of his decision-making process, this period becomes crucial. Any last-minute visits made or communication exchanged with programs in contention could ultimately sway his decision on commitment day.
