Breaking: UNC Basketball boat race Against Duke for Top 3-Point Shooter

So far, the UNC basketball coaching staff has been associated with several players in the transfer portal, but none have committed yet. Players like Oumar Ballo, Aaron Bradshaw, and Danny Wolf were considering joining the Tar Heels before opting for other destinations. However, UNC head coach Hubert Davis remains persistent in his efforts to bolster his roster for the 2024-25 season.

Recently, CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein reported that Dayton transfer Koby Brea is contemplating offers from five schools, including UNC.

While UNC is on Brea’s list, other prestigious programs like Kansas, Kentucky, UConn, and UNC’s fierce rival Duke are also in contention. The 6-foot-6 guard has already held virtual meetings with all five programs and is now preparing to schedule in-person visits in the near future.

Koby Brea - Men's Basketball - University of Dayton Athletics

Brea, who spent four seasons at Dayton before entering the transfer portal with one year of eligibility left, led all of college basketball in 3-point shooting percentage last season. He connected on 100 of his 201 attempts from beyond the arc, shooting nearly 50 percent for the entire year.

In 33 games, Koby Brea averaged 11.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists while primarily coming off the bench for the Atlantic 10 Tournament champions.

The 21-year-old transfer could be a valuable addition for the Tar Heels, especially considering the departure of three starters from last season’s team. UNC has yet to officially secure a transfer but appears to be leading the race for Belmont transfer Cade Tyson, who recently received a prediction to join the Tar Heels from 247Sports.
