After not experiencing any departures through transfers in the previous season, Duke basketball is now facing the departure of seven players through the transfer portal this offseason. Recently, Jeremy Roach and Mark Mitchell have both chosen new teams, committing to Baylor and Missouri, respectively. However, the future destinations of the other former Blue Devils remain uncertain.
This situation may soon see some clarity, as Jaden Schutt, who spent two years at Duke, is arranging visits to potential new teams. According to a report by 247Sports’ Travis Branham on Friday, the 6-foot-5 transfer guard, previously a four-star recruit, has already visited Dayton and is now planning trips to Butler, Wisconsin, DePaul, and ACC member Virginia Tech.
Branham’s report implies that Schutt might have narrowed down his options, with the team he ultimately chooses likely to be one of those mentioned above.

The 21-year-old native of Illinois spent two seasons at Duke, seeing limited action as a freshman and missing his entire sophomore year due to injury. During his freshman year, Schutt appeared in 14 games, averaging 2.1 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.4 assists while shooting 35.0 percent from three-point range.
Ranked No. 75 overall in the 2022 Composite by 247Sports, Schutt was part of head coach Jon Scheyer’s first recruiting class at Duke, which was ranked as the nation’s top class.
Having redshirted last season, Jaden Schutt will have three years of eligibility remaining wherever he chooses to transfer.
Duke basketball still has four other players transferring out who have yet to announce their next destinations: freshmen forwards TJ Power and Sean Stewart, sophomore center Christian Reeves, and junior guard Jaylen Blakes.
