Michigan State Safety star Enters Transfer Portal

It’s been another hectic day for Michigan State Football, as four players have entered the transfer portal just today. The most recent is junior safety Jaden Mangham, who followed his older brother, sixth-year senior running back Jaren Mangham, in opting to leave the program. Jaden, who started 10 games for the Spartans at safety in 2023, received All-Big Ten honorable mention last season after his impressive performance, which included 53 tackles, seven pass breakups, four interceptions, and a fumble recovery.

Hailing from Franklin (Mich.) Wylie E. Groves, Jaden was a highly-regarded four-star recruit, ranked as the No. 311 overall player, No. 13 athlete, and No. 8 in Michigan in the Class of 2022. He made his debut for the Spartans as a true freshman, appearing in eight games and making two starts, registering 20 tackles. With the Mangham brothers leaving, Michigan State now has a total of 18 players who have entered the transfer portal since April 16 when the spring transfer window opened.

The most recent recruit, defensive back Ed Woods, opted for Michigan State over Alabama. So far this offseason, the Spartans have added 15 transfer players to their roster.
