The TCU football program had a successful week with a boost to its defensive line via the transfer portal. On Sunday, they secured a commitment from Houston defensive lineman Hakeem Ajijolaiya, who brings much-needed depth and experience.
Ajijolaiya, who spent five seasons at Houston, started six games at nose tackle in 2023, recording 21 tackles, including a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery during their game against TCU. Standing at 6-foot-2, 320 pounds, Ajijolaiya will provide valuable depth, especially after losing Damonic Williams to Oklahoma earlier this off-season. In 2022, he appeared in all 13 games, registering four tackles and a fumble recovery.
Ajijolaiya had limited playtime in 2021 and 2020 during his redshirt freshman years. This marks TCU’s second transfer acquisition this off-season, alongside Alabama transfer James Brockermeyer. Additionally, TCU added Denton Ryan linebacker Dillon Arkansas from one of the top high school programs in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Although unranked by 247Sports, Arkansas has been highly productive, recording 73 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble last season, and 80 tackles, six tackles for loss, and a forced fumble in 2022. At 6’1, 190 pounds, Arkansas held offers from several schools before choosing TCU. TCU’s 2025 class now includes eight committed players, half of whom are from the DFW area. Arkansas plans official visits to Baylor and Rice in June, indicating his recruitment is still open. The Horned Frogs’ ’25 class currently ranks No. 30 nationally and No. 5 in the Big 12.
