Breaking news: Oklahoma added another talented defensive back to their 2025 recruiting class

Trystan Haynes, a defensive back from Carl Albert (OK), announced his commitment to the University of Oklahoma on Tuesday. This adds to the recent success on the recruiting front for Brent Venables and his team, who have secured six commitments from high school players since April 6.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 175 pounds, Haynes is ranked as the 119th overall prospect and the 12th best cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class by 247Sports. The 4-star recruit picked OU over several other top programs, including Georgia, Alabama, and Texas A&M.

Although Haynes plays both wide receiver and cornerback for his high school team, he will focus on the defensive back position at the collegiate level. Known for his speed and length, he excels at challenging passes in the air and keeping up with speedy receivers downfield.
