Not too long ago, ACC schools had an unspoken agreement against intra-conference transfers, but that’s ancient history now. Fans will need to adjust, especially if a transfer happens between Duke and UNC. Just as we got used to Michael Gbinije joining Syracuse, even though he transferred before Syracuse joined the ACC and had to sit out a year, now we’ll need to acclimate to TJ Power at Virginia Tech and Christian Reeves at Clemson.
Reeves recently committed to Clemson, which means we’ll have to face him on the court, but it’s probably a wise decision for him. Brad Brownell has a strong track record in developing talent, so we’re optimistic about Reeves’ prospects there. Plus, Clemson isn’t too far from his hometown of Charlotte, NC, making it convenient for his family to attend games.
We might not root for him when Clemson plays Duke, but otherwise, Reeves seems like a solid addition to any team, and we hope this opportunity brings him success.
