The Miami Marlins made some roster moves, including the acquisition of shortstop Tristan Gray from Triple-A Jacksonville, while sending right-hander George Soriano down. To make space on the 40-man roster, they placed right-hander J.T. Chargois on the 60-day injured list due to neck issues.

Gray, aged 28, who had brief stints in the majors with the Tampa Bay Rays last season, joins the Marlins after impressing with Jacksonville, hitting 10 homers and driving in 23 runs. Soriano, 25, struggled with a 9.26 ERA in 10 relief outings for Miami this year.

Chargois, 33, has been sidelined since February due to neck spasms and has yet to feature for the Marlins this season. Across six seasons in the majors with five different teams, he boasts a 13-6 record with a 3.55 ERA in 208 appearances, including eight starts.
