Many people across the country adore Ohio State, but one outlet harshly criticized the Buckeyes on Friday, even provoking a reaction from one of their former players, which left many fans quite angry.
NCAA 25 Trailer Came Out On Friday
The trailer for the NCAA 25 video game was released on Friday, sparking excitement among college football fans eager to see the first new installment since 2014.
However, many Ohio State fans felt slighted by the game. The trailer featured an Ohio State player being overpowered by Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, one of the cover athletes. It also depicted Illinois defeating the Buckeyes, a scenario that hasn’t occurred since 2007 and seems unlikely in reality. The game appeared to target Ohio State unnecessarily, although it did show appreciation for one of their former quarterbacks.
Former Quarterback Kyle McCord Was Getting Love
McCord, who was Ohio State’s starting quarterback last season, transferred to Syracuse for the 2024 season. He was prominently featured in the EA Sports trailer, receiving considerable attention. This did not sit well with many Buckeye fans, who expressed their displeasure on social media. Here are some of their reactions:
the fact that the NCAA trailer goes right from Ohio State getting stiff armed by Michigan to Kyle McCord in a Syracuse jersey is not a coincidence. What is EA Sports problem with Ohio State? pic.twitter.com/XNuPczHZxO

having Michigan stiff-arm Ohio State then immediately cutting to Kyle McCord at Syracuse is incredible work https://t.co/QFml71R8Hs pic.twitter.com/ozBWDgZSw1

EA’s anti-Ohio State agenda in this game is both blatant and hilarious
• No OSU cover athlete ever.
• Donovan Edwards makes the defense look silly.
• Illinois hoists the rivalry trophy after scoring 52 points in a win.EA gave Kyle McCord a positive Syracuse highlight… pic.twitter.com/HCrbf9E39O
