Breaking news: In a surprising move, 37-years old to pursue a career in the AFL

Renowned Indigenous rapper Briggs is diversifying his career by pursuing accreditation as an AFL player agent. Known for his multifaceted talents in acting, production, and activism, Adam Briggs, a proud Yorta Yorta man, is now venturing into sports representation. A devoted supporter of the Essendon team, Briggs is joining a cohort of aspiring player agents undergoing the AFL Players Association’s accreditation process. Upon completion, he will be equipped to sign players and engage in contractual negotiations.

Growing up in Shepparton, Victoria, Briggs idolized Indigenous football star Gavin Wanganeen, whose achievements with Essendon left a lasting impression. In 2023, Briggs made headlines by withdrawing his support from the NRL’s Melbourne Storm due to a board member’s donation to the No campaign during a referendum. He publicly criticized the decision, citing its conflict with his values and Indigenous identity.

He was candid in addressing the aftermath, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by Indigenous Australians and confronting the disparity in experiences between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in Australia.
