On Tuesday, they released infielder Kevin Padlo from his minor league contract.

Padlo, 27, has faced difficulties in the minor leagues despite a strong performance in spring training. In 47 Triple-A games this season, he has a batting line of .216/.340/.380, with six home runs and 29 RBIs.

A journeyman infielder, Padlo was drafted in the fifth round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies. He debuted in the MLB in 2021 and has since played for several teams, including the Tampa Bay Rays, Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Los Angeles Angels.

Padlo has only appeared in 26 MLB games, posting a batting line of .111/.158/.167, with three doubles, three RBIs, and an OPS of .325.

In his Triple-A career, he has a batting line of .247/.347/.451, with 60 home runs and 215 RBIs in 356 games.

While Padlo was released, outfielder Ryan Ward has returned to Triple-A Oklahoma City after being on the injured list for three weeks.
