Oregon State has benefited from its connection with Florida in recent years, with two of their expected starters, Melvin Jordan and Noble Thomas, originating from the state. Over the weekend, the Beavers hosted two defensive backs from Florida: George Mullins from South Sumter and JoJo Scott from Victory Christian Academy.

Scott, a 3-star recruit standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 175 pounds, has upcoming official visits planned to Kansas, Kansas State, and Wisconsin, but Oregon State made a strong impression during his first visit. Scott praised the coaches for their rapport with parents and players, making the campus feel like home. He particularly noted Coach Bray’s leadership and the overall atmosphere at Oregon State.

During his visit, Scott was hosted by Harlem Howard, a redshirt freshman safety also hailing from Florida, which helped them bond easily.

While Scott enjoyed activities like a campus scavenger hunt, he was most impressed by the culture of the Oregon State program. He noticed that many of the coaches were former players, indicating a strong and appealing culture that fosters alumni involvement and a high standard of excellence.

Scott does not currently have a commitment date in place.
