Just a few days after wrapping up his official visit to Clemson, offensive lineman Rowan Byrne is poised to announce his college decision. With Clemson, Michigan State, Florida State, Texas A&M, Stanford, and Penn State comprising his top choices, Byrne is ready to reveal his selection.
Byrne, hailing from New Rochelle (N.Y.) Iona, was particularly impressed by Clemson during his official visit, stating, “I really had high expectations for this visit and they definitely surpassed them. It was awesome. It was everything I was hoping it would be.”
While he has yet to visit Michigan State, Byrne has already made trips to Penn State and Florida State and expressed no hesitation about committing to either before an official visit. His familiarity with Penn State stems from several unofficial visits, fostering a strong connection with offensive line coach Phil Trautwein. Although he had set an official visit to Penn State for June 21-23, this will only occur if he commits to the Nittany Lions.
Similarly, Byrne’s spring visit to Florida State provided valuable insight into the program, with his official visit scheduled for June 14-16 contingent upon his commitment to the school. He praised Florida State’s offensive line coach, Alex Atkins, for transforming the team’s performance and fostering a positive culture.
As for Michigan State, Byrne holds the program in high regard, noting its tradition and resources. His official visit to Michigan State this weekend is contingent upon his commitment to the Spartans, with a strong bond formed with offensive line coach Jim Michalczik.
Byrne did not have official visits scheduled for Stanford or Texas A&M.
