Brighton & Hove Albion recently bid farewell to Roberto De Zerbi at the close of the previous season, leaving the managerial seat vacant. Reports from Sky Deutschland suggest that the Seagulls are eyeing Fabian Hürzeler, the 31-year-old manager of FC St. Pauli, as a potential successor.
Hürzeler, who began his coaching journey with FC Pipinsried in 2016 before joining St. Pauli in 2022, played a pivotal role in their ascent to the top flight by clinching victory in the 2. Bundesliga. His impactful tenure at St. Pauli has evidently caught Brighton’s attention, with Hürzeler emerging as a leading contender for the managerial position at The Amex. Initial discussions have commenced between Brighton and Hürzeler, although the manager has yet to make a definitive decision regarding the move.
Notably, there is no release clause in Hürzeler’s current contract, and Brighton has yet to approach St. Pauli officially. However, given Brighton’s keen interest in Hürzeler, formal negotiations could swiftly follow suit. If Hürzeler were to accept the role at Brighton, he would assume the mantle as the youngest manager in the Premier League.
In addition to Hürzeler, recent reports have also linked Brighton with interest in Henrik Rydström, the manager of Malmö FF.
