Oregon State secured the commitment of Ellijah Washington, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound athlete hailing from Oakland (Calif.) Castlemont, on Sunday morning. Washington, who just concluded his official visit in Corvallis, announced his decision via social media.

Although categorized as an ATH (athlete), Washington will be joining the Beavers as a wide receiver. Prior to his commitment, he had narrowed down his choices to Oregon State, Cal, and Arizona.

The recruitment efforts, particularly in convincing Washington to choose Oregon State, were spearheaded by wideouts coach Kefense Hynson, who shares an Oakland connection with the recruit. Washington highlighted the pivotal role of his relationship with Coach Hynson in his decision-making process, emphasizing their longstanding connection since his freshman year.
