Texas Tech, under Joey McGuire’s leadership, continues to excel in recruiting for the class of 2025. Following the commitment from 3-star defensive back Swayde Griffin on Monday morning, another promising prospect, wide receiver Bryson Jones, announced his decision to join the Red Raiders later that afternoon after visiting Lubbock over the weekend.
Jones boasts a four-star composite rating by 247Sports, ranking as the 58th wide receiver nationally and 60th overall in Texas. Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 175 pounds, he brings a dynamic playmaking ability. Despite offers from schools like Texas A&M, Tennessee, and Oklahoma State, Jones opted for Texas Tech. In his previous season, he showcased his skills by tallying 1,092 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns on 64 catches.

Jones adds depth to an already impressive wide receiver lineup for the Red Raiders. Alongside him, Tech has secured commitments from 4-star wide receiver Tristan Gentry, as well as 3-star prospects Lleyton Stone and Isaiah Robertson.
Looking ahead, it’s crucial for Texas Tech to nurture young talents like Jones, especially with key members of the receiving corps set to move on after the upcoming season. With Washington State transfer Josh Kelly and others nearing the end of their eligibility, the development of incoming talents becomes paramount for sustaining the team’s offensive prowess.
Currently, Texas Tech boasts the 19th overall recruiting class in the nation, according to 247Sports, with a strong emphasis on offensive talent among its 14 committed players for the 2025 season.
