The Wisconsin Badgers have successfully re-recruited local defensive lineman Torin Pettaway from the Minnesota Golden Gophers, a move that comes shortly after his de-commitment from Minnesota just a few months ago.
Initially, Pettaway’s decision to de-commit caught many by surprise, given the Badgers’ previous success in securing his commitment.
However, Wisconsin remained persistent in their pursuit of the Middleton native, and following an official visit earlier this month, they managed to convince him to flip back to their program.
Standing at 6’5 and weighing 265 pounds, Pettaway once again commits to the Badgers, becoming the first defensive lineman in the Class of 2025 to do so.

His recent unofficial visit to the campus during the start of their summer camp schedule played a crucial role in solidifying his decision, earning him a three-star rating in the process.
Pettaway’s journey in recruitment is noteworthy, particularly as he transitioned from a strong background in basketball to focusing more on football, particularly as a defensive end.
With his commitment, the Badgers now boast a total of 17 recruits for the upcoming season, marking a successful June for the program, especially in bolstering their defensive line.
