In response to the NCAA’s rejection of N’Faly Dante’s appeal for another season of college basketball, the Ducks swiftly secured a replacement center from a Power 5 conference, Georgetown. Supreme Cook, a seasoned senior who has previously started at Georgetown and Fairfield, has committed to joining the Ducks for his final academic and athletic stint.
Expressing his gratitude on social media, Cook thanked his family, the New Jersey Roadrunners, the Oregon Men’s Basketball staff, and everyone who contributed to his journey. He confirmed his decision to complete his collegiate career at the University of Oregon, emphasizing his enthusiasm with a “Go Ducks!”
Cook, standing at 6-foot-9, visited Oregon over the weekend, awaiting scholarship availability before committing. With the potential to vie for starting positions at power forward or center, his presence adds depth and competition to the Ducks’ lineup.
During his tenure at Georgetown, Cook showcased his prowess with an average of 10.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and an impressive 58 percent shooting accuracy. Notably, he led the Big East in offensive rebounds and ranked fourth in total rebounds. Having started all 32 games for Georgetown last season, Cook logged a career-high average of 27.2 minutes per game. His prior experience at Fairfield highlights his consistency and contribution to the team’s success.
Cook’s addition marks the fourth transfer portal acquisition for Oregon, joining the ranks of Brandon Angel from Stanford, Ra’Heim Moss from Toledo, and TJ Bamba from Villanova. Together, they form a formidable lineup, each poised to contend for significant playing time in the upcoming season.
