Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are reportedly prepared to make a move that many thought Newcastle United would make in the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to TEAMtalk, both Premier League clubs are considering pursuing Saudi Arabia international Saud Abdulhamid, following his impressive season with Al-Hilal in the Pro League. Abdulhamid, who has played alongside notable players like Ruben Neves and Aleksandar Mitrovic, is eager to transition to European football. With the transfer window opening, he has attracted interest from several quarters.
French side Toulouse have already initiated discussions with the 24-year-old, but Marseille, Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest have also made substantial strides. They have engaged with Abdulhamid’s agent and begun negotiations with Al-Hilal. The full-back’s contract is set to expire next summer, adding urgency to the talks.
Aston Villa specifically seeks to bolster their full-back options amid speculation around Matty Cash’s future at Villa Park. Additionally, manager Emery is reportedly interested in Sunderland’s Trai Hume, who is also courted by Bournemouth and Leicester City, newly promoted to the Premier League.
Palace eye Gunners winger as replacement for Newcastle-linked star
Reiss Nelson has set off a competition for his transfer after reportedly indicating his desire to leave Arsenal in the upcoming summer window.
The 24-year-old featured in 24 games across various competitions last season, but only started five under Mikel Arteta, prompting the former Feyenoord loanee to contemplate his future at the Emirates Stadium. According to TEAMtalk, Crystal Palace could provide an exit route for Nelson, especially with the potential departure of sought-after winger Michael Olise during the summer.
Olise, who has drawn interest from Newcastle, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich recently, has sparked Crystal Palace’s interest in Nelson as they seek to replace him following his impressive performances at Selhurst Park.
