JUST IN: Rays 27-year-old athlete remains out due to significant injury and sickness

ATLANTA — The Rays faced another shortage on Sunday.

Shortstop Taylor Walls remained out due to symptoms from a flu-like illness spreading in the clubhouse.

Additionally, infielder Jose Caballero was set to return but had to cancel just before the game began because dehydration from the illness caused cramps in his left leg.

“I just couldn’t play,” Caballero said post-game.

He explained he started feeling unwell during the Wednesday and Thursday games against the Cubs but managed to push through.
