West Linn (Oregon) offensive lineman Jake Normoyle has decided to remain in his home state. He revealed his commitment to Oregon State on Sunday afternoon.
WHAT JAKE NORMOYLE SAYS ABOUT OREGON STATE
“I chose Oregon State because my visit was incredible. The people here are genuine, and I’ve developed a strong bond with the coaching staff.”
“I’m drawn to the college town atmosphere of Corvallis.”
“Coach Kyle DeVan was a major factor for me—his expertise, coaching philosophy, and personal character make me confident that I’ll thrive and grow here.”
Normoyle received offers from all three Division I programs in Oregon: Oregon State, Portland State, and Oregon, where his father had played for the Ducks.
However, Oregon State was the first to extend an offer and made him a top priority right from the beginning, especially under Coach DeVan’s initial offer.
Normoyle stands out as the premier offensive lineman in his class within the state, serving as a cornerstone of the Lions’ offensive line in the left tackle position. He displays versatility in his position and is comparable to former West Linn lineman Alex Forsyth, who transitioned from tackle in high school to center with the Denver Broncos. While Normoyle’s size may suggest a potential move inside at the college level, his adept footwork and hand skills have enabled him to excel as an offensive tackle for the Lions.
